TechnoBase Version 2.02 Distributor Information Update May 2002 ------------------------------------------------------ Welcome to the 'new-look' TechnoBase CD-ROM from Novocastra Laboratories Ltd. It is designed to be more user-friendly in your attempts to recover product-specific information. Please note that it succeeds version 1.02 which should now be destroyed. It is a database of information and protocols associated with our current range of products. How to use this CD-ROM ---------------------------------- To have reached this page you will already have the CD-ROM running correctly. It is designed to operate via the CD-ROM drive but you may wish to copy it onto your hard drive. To do this, create a directory for the CD-ROM contents and copy these files into it. To start the software on a PC 'double-click' on a file called 'index.htm'. On a Macintosh, 'double-click' on a file called 'MacStart.htm' and follow the instructions. Please note that if you are storing this information on your hard drive then please update ALL files for each subsequent version of the CD-ROM
If you have a PC: If an earlier version of Adobe Reader, eg Acrobat 3.0x for PC, currently exists on your system, and you wish to upgrade this, uninstall it first before installing the newer version on the CD-ROM, which is Acrobat Reader version 4.05 for PC. This version can be installed using the 'Get Adobe Acrobat-PC Version' button found at the top of this page. Alternatively, this version is included on the CD-ROM, named in the "Data/Reader" folder/directory as "PCReader". To install the latest version of Reader onto a PC, double click on the "PCReader" folder to reveal the file "AR405ENG.EXE". Double click on this file and follow the prompts for automatic installation of the software. If you have a Macintosh: If an earlier version of Adobe Reader currently exists on your system, and you wish to upgrade this, uninstall it first before installing the newer version on the CD-ROM. Only the contents of the PCReader folder will be recognised by a PC but both versions will be seen by the Macintosh computer. This version can be installed using the 'Get Adobe Acrobat-MacVersion' button found at the top of this page. Alternatively, to install onto a Macintosh, double click on the "Reader" folder followed by the "MACReader" folder, and again on the file "Installer" and follow the prompts for automatic installation. Restart the computer after installation. Pull down the "View" menu and select "by icon". This will return the appearance of the folders to their original state. If either of these versions of Adobe Reader has already been installed on your computer, you may immediately proceed by double clicking on the relevant highlighted codes or document names. Older versions of Adobe Reader may not show the opened file contents (datasheet, protocol etc) in colour. Please note that although every effort is made to ensure that this CD-ROM is free from any possible electronic defects, Novocastra Laboratories Ltd. cannot be held responsible for any problems that may arise from its use.
