Histone Antibodies - Overview Press Release

10/1/2001

BIODESIGN International has introduced a line of Histone antibodies, which includes antibodies specific for Histone H1, Histone H2B, Histone H3 and Histone Core. Each is available as a purified, unconjugated antibody and in a format conjugated to biotin or peroxidase. Histone H1 is also available as a monoclonal antibody supernatant. Depending on the antibody chosen, applications include immunohistochemistry, Western blot, and ELISA. Histones and DNA are the two major components of chromatin. Histones are closely associated with DNA, providing more stability and flexibility. Histones are currently being studied to determine their significance in the determination of phenotypes and heredity.
