Apolipoprotein E2, E3, E4 - Overview Press Release
1/15/2002
BIODESIGN International has introduced three recombinant
apolipoproteins, E2, E3 and E4. Apolipoprotein E (Apo E) is a
ligand for the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor and recent
research studies have shown that it is an important factor in
nerve degeneration and regeneration. Since Apo E continues to be
studied for its roles in neuron function and disease, BIODESIGN
is pleased to offer these recombinants for use in various
research studies. Each Apo E isoform retains full biological
activity, enabling researchers to study the interactions of Apo
E with other proteins such as beta-amyloid, tau and the LDL
receptor.
Each apolipoprotein is produced by baculovirus-mediated
expression in Spodoptera frugiperda cells. They are expressed
and purified (by affinity chromatography) in their native
conformation. Each is provided in 0.7 M ammonium bicarbonate
buffer in a 50 ug vial and stored at ¨C20 to ¨C80oC.
BIODESIGN also offers numerous native Apolipoprotein E proteins
and antibodies to Human, Hamster, Mouse, and Rabbit Apo E.
