In one-step quantification of RNA using the QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Kit, sensitivity is enhanced by combining HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase with a unique blend of Sensiscript and Omniscript Reverse Transcriptases. Sensiscript RT is designed for use with very small amounts of RNA, while Omniscript RT provides highly efficient reverse transcription with RNA amounts greater than 50 ng. The combination of both of these high-affinity reverse transcriptases ensures highly efficient, sensitive, and reproducible reverse transcription over a wide range of template amounts (see figure "High Reproducibility and Sensitivity of the QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Kit").
High Reproducibility and Sensitivity of the QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Kit

One-step RT-PCR of a cyclophilin fragment from 100 ng, 1 ng, and 10 pg of total HeLa RNA. Twelve samples were amplified in parallel from each template amount. Coefficient of variation (CV) of the CT value was below 1.1% for all 3 template amounts. Reactions were carried out on the ABI PRISM 7700 Detection System.
