For cis-repressed high-level expression of N-terminally 6xHis-tagged proteins
| Vectors included: | pQE-80L, pQE-81L, and pQE-82L |
| Proteins recognized by: | Penta¡€His, RGS¡€His, and Tetra¡€His Antibodies and HRP Conjugates |
The pQE-80L series has been designed to allow tightly regulated 6xHis-tagged protein expression in any E. coli host strain. The vectors are based on the pQE-30 series and include a lacIq repressor gene. Whereas the pQE-30 vectors rely on a lacI repressor gene present in trans on a separate pREP4 plasmid, the pQE-80L vectors have a cis-lacIq gene that overexpresses the lac repressor, strongly suppressing protein expression from the lac promoter before induction with IPTG. Suppression of protein expression prior to induction is particularly important for the stable propagation of expression constructs encoding ¡°toxic¡± proteins.
