The DNeasy Tissue Kit provides rapid isolation of genomic DNA from a wide range of organisms (see figure "DNA Isolation from Distantly Related Organisms") and fresh and frozen animal tissues (see figure "DNA Isolation from Various Mammalian Tissues"). For convenience and reduced hands-on time, cells are directly lysed with QIAGEN Proteinase K without the need for mechanical homogenization. After lysis, DNA is purified in as little as 20 minutes using the simple DNeasy procedure in a convenient spin-column format. Special protocols and guidelines are provided for different samples, such as paraffinembedded tissue, blood, cultured cells, rodent tails, insects, bacteria, and yeast.
