For two-step RT-PCR, Omniscript or Sensiscript RT Kits provide highly specific and sensitive reverse transcription, and HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase gives high specificity in the PCR step. Alternatively, the QIAGEN OneStep RT-PCR Kit provides all reaction components for easy and sensitive one-step RT-PCR in one tube.
Quantitative real-time two-step RT-PCR using the fluorescent dye SYBR Green can be carried out using Omniscript or Sensiscript RT Kits for reverse transcription followed by the QuantiTect SYBR Green PCR Kit for highly specific, quantitative, real-time PCR. For quantitative, real-time, one-step RT-PCR, the QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Kit can be used.
