展望2001年科学大成就（一）

　　Science杂志编辑在2000年即将过去的时候预测2001年，六个将引起关注的科研领域。

感染性疾病 对这个星球各种灾难疾病的研究已经走上了世界舞台。2000年白宫，欧盟和八国峰会均宣布投资数百万美元用于结核病，疟疾和艾滋病的斗争，而Bill&Melinda盖茨基金会也涉足该领域。研制新的药物和疫苗需要数年的时间，但是估计将会有大量的相关论文发表。
