  院士评选近年来倍受关注,而今年的院士增选更是由于此前一些事件而吸引了许多人的眼球。8月,2011年中科院院士增选公布了第二轮入选名单,其中生命科学领域呼声颇高的北京大学生命科学学院院长饶毅教授落选了,这引发了许多议论。近期王晓东在接受专访的时候表示,饶毅是国际一流的科学家,其学术水平不仅远在同领域的第二轮候选人之上,也高于部分院士。那么就论文而言,饶毅教授与其他入选教授论文是否有差异呢……

——如果看近5年论文,饶毅4篇,其他几位都是十篇以上,当然饶毅发的杂志比较强,如果可以认为他一篇顶别人两篇的话他落选就不冤,能顶三篇的话他就有点冤,能顶别人四篇的话他就绝对很冤,不同研究领域的学术成果究竟该怎么比较才最合理呢?

——I disagree with this comment. Although it is hard to evaluate investigators from different fields, a Nature or Cell paper tell somehow the truth. Top journals usually have the broadest impact on various topics. And it is not fair to simply compare them with several samll papers. To jduge their contribution, recognization from peers or even competitors should be more acknowledged. Personally speaking, I like Rao, a real scientist with high professional qualification as well social consciousness.
