欧洲分子生物学实验室近期两大学术活动

生物通报道：10月31日，EMBO公布了今年入选的49名新成员名单，这些新成员因为在自身研究领域中做出了杰出贡献，跻身于欧洲前沿生命科学领域。11月6日，EMBO公布了21名青年学者计划（Young Investigator Programme，生物通编者译）获奖者名单。EMBO青年学者计划代表了顶级科学成就，2006年度获奖者是从欧洲150多名优秀候选者中精心选拔出来的。

　　

生物通报道：欧洲分子生物学协会（European Molecular Biology Organization ，EMBO）每年以科学成就为把关环节，引入一些新成员。10月31日，EMBO公布了今年入选的49名新成员名单，这些新成员因为在自身研究领域中做出了杰出贡献，跻身于欧洲前沿生命科学领域。

EMBO常务董事Frank Gannon说：“EMBO的成员是EMBO最宝贵的财富，也是我们享誉世界的基础。今年，我们邀请一组新成员加入EMBO团体。我希望这些新鲜血液将他们的理想也带到团体中来。”

目前，EMBO在欧洲已经有1200名成员，在世界范围内也有70名准成员，有43名诺贝尔获奖者和其它重要奖项的获奖者。自从EMBO成立以来，EMBO成员对维持EMBO高水准的科研优势做出了卓越贡献。

49名新成员中44名来自欧洲，4名美国杰出科学家和中国北京基因组研究所杨焕明教授获得准成员资格。以下是新成员名单：

11月6日，EMBO公布了21名青年学者计划（Young Investigator Programme，生物通编者译）获奖者名单。EMBO青年学者计划代表了顶级科学成就，2006年度获奖者是从欧洲150多名优秀候选者中精心选拔出来的。

EMBO青年学者计划具有广泛的影响力，只有代表其研究领域一流标准的研究人员才能成为此计划的成员。这些成员组成欧洲最杰出年轻生命科研人员网络，这一为期3年的计划为他们提供一系列的好处，旨在为其独立成才向在科学界建立威信平稳过渡保驾护航。

设立青年学者计划的目的是提高年轻科学家的地位，帮助他们获得更多的合作机会和资金。计划的主持人Gerlind Wallon说EMBO青年学者计划所提供的支持和名誉，是青年科研人员难得的。她向科学界和投资社团保证这些获资助青年学者的研究质量，这是一个令人印象深刻的推荐。

EMBO青年学者计划支持对象为已经主持个人首个独立研究室研究工作四年以上的研究员。奖励包括参与一系列项目顾问、年会、实验室交流、专业培训的资格，以及每年15，000欧元的资助。青年学者计划从2000年开始重视杰出青年团体领袖，目前已有70名生命科研人员加入网络。

杨焕明(Yang Huanming)，生物学家、基因组研究专家、中科院北京基因组研究所所长。1998年受聘为中国科学院遗传研究所人类基因组中心主任，1999年与其它科学家共同创建北京华大基因研究中心（BGI）并出任主任，现任科学院北京基因组研究所所长。
